Instagram Stories vs. Highlights
A Story is temporary, while a Highlight is a saved Story collection displayed on an Instagram profile. Use the Story Downloader for a current Story link and this page for media inside a public Highlight link. Highlights removed from a profile cannot be recovered here.
Highlight Cover vs. Photos and Videos Inside
A Highlight cover is the circular preview on a profile that represents the album. Inside the album there may be one or more saved Story photos or videos.
The cover is not always the first photo in the album. This page focuses on the media returned for the Highlight link; a separate cover download appears only when Instagram provides one.

- The profile is private, or the Highlight is Close Friends only.
- The Highlight link is incomplete, mistyped, or points to the wrong content type.
- The Highlight was deleted, renamed, or removed from the profile.
- An item inside the Highlight was deleted or is restricted by region or age.
- Instagram temporarily limited the request or changed how public Highlight pages work.
- The pasted URL is a Story, Reel, or regular post instead of a Highlight link.
- The browser blocked the download, or the device is out of storage space.
